Emily and Tim have a story that only destiny can orchestrate. Their story is unlikely as they come. Emily grew up in a small town in North Georgia while Tim grew up in Hong Kong and Australia. And yet somehow, the two of them found each other and wed on this beautifully overcast (and somewhat rainy) September day.
Their relationship flourished at Emory University, where they both met and after graduation they found themselves beginning their professional careers in Washington, DC. With an affinity for travel, Tim proposed on a rainy evening in front of Tower Bridge in London and when this long-awaited day came, it could easily be out of a fairytale.
Tim wore a sharp royal blue tux that paired beautifully with Emily’s custom gown from Anne Barge; a stunning crepe gown that boasted a refined and classic silhouette. Tim & Emily read vows and a letter to one another after their first look, something that I wish more couples did. I think that there’s something precious about having that moment and those words be kept sacred and between the two of them. Adorning their wedding party and overall design in neutrals and hints of blush, their event was made all the more sentimental by incorporating elements from Tim’s side of the family: authentic dishes, a traditional tea ceremony, and elements throughout the design written in Mandarin. Against a backdrop like the Atlanta History Center, not even the rain could stop a gorgeous day at the Swan House.
It was an honor to witness the joy and love these two have for one another. Sometimes a couple can be quiet with their love and its nuances, while with others, it just radiates; and Emily and Tim are surely the latter.
