Laura & Austin | Montaluce Winery Wedding

Laura and Austin met at church after being introduced to one another by friends. It wasn’t until a little while that Austin asked Laura out, and the rest you could say was history. Laura and Austin, along with their friends and family, celebrated together at the beautiful Montaluce Winery, A stunning wedding venue just north of Atlanta in Dahlonega, which is a city in the North Georgia mountains. The winery itself overlooks a beautiful lake, and a stunning restaurant sits a top the hill.

Laura wore a beautiful Haley Paige dress from White Magnolia Bridal paired with beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes. Her invitation suite was designed by Shelley Legg, who is a wonderful planner from the Chancey Charm team. Not only did Shelley create the invitation suite, the day of was coordinated seamlessly by her, as she helped Laura have the wedding of her dreams. Laura‘s bridesmaids all wore variations of pinks and purples, which looked beautiful as they took bridal party photos together. All of the girls had their hair and makeup done by Margaret Snider, and had beautiful custom-made bouquets that featured cascading peonies, greenery, ranunculus, and garden roses – all in the same dusty color scheme with punches of taker colors.

Laura and Austin did their first look under a tall oak tree, which was one of the most precious parts of the day. Doing a first look allowed for them to see each other and relieve any nervous feelings before the ceremony, and spend some quiet moments before the festivities began. I always recommend that my couples do a first look if they’d like to pray together or if they feel like they’ll be anxious before walking down the aisle. Furthermore, it allows for more flexibility in the timeline and yields more photos overall. Their ceremony took place in the gorgeous production room, which provided a romantic and moody aesthetic, lit by beautiful candles and adorned with flower petals and greenery.

Laura and Austin said the most heartwarming vows and from there, the party commenced. The two entered the reception with “Despacito” playing in the background and went straight into their first dance, which was “Carried Away” by George Strait. Laura danced hand-in-hand with her father to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland, and then from there, the dance floor was filled with the couples’ dearest family and friends.

At the end of the evening, the two said their goodbyes in a standing sparkler exit and get away in a helicopter. I’m so thankful to have been invited to celebrate this gorgeous wedding with Laura and Austin, and to be entrusted to capture one of the most important days of their lives.
