I had the pleasure of meeting Katie years ago, while I was in high school. I was wide-eyed and new to the wedding industry and loved the beauty of Montaluce Winery and reached out, asking if I could photograph a couple on the property. Since then, I’ve loved getting to know Katie and watch from afar, her marriage to Sean and her love for her sweet pups.
For those who don’t know Montaluce, it’s a stunning winery hidden just outstide of the North Georgia Mountains in Dahlonega. The property has stunning vineyards that span across the hills, and an incredible restaurant open to the public. Not only that, Katie and her team also run the space as a wedding venue on the weekends; and I’ve had the pleasure of documenting so many love stories alongside Katie and her team. I always tell my brides that they’re in the best hands, because Katie and her team are absolutely incredible at coordinating and ensuring that each wedding day goes smoothly.
Last autumn, Katie reached out asking if I could document them both together at Montaluce, where she still works but also where they met. These two have a gentleness with one another that is so tender and precious to behold. There’s a safeness between these two when they hold one another and it’s rare to see that in couples.
It was moody outside and rather chilly, but these two (and their pups) braved the weather like champs and I’ve loved the photos that have come from this day. I hope you do, too!
